Healing of the heart and soul can be achieved through meditation. It takes practice, but the time spent is well worth it.

First of all, let’s begin with the fact that mastering the art of meditation takes practice for most people. After all, in this busy, hectic world we live in most people are not a custom to experiencing total mindful relaxation. I know that for myself it took concentration and practice. Sometimes it was even impossible for my mind kept wondering into stressful events and worries of my life. I guarantee if you stick with it, and don’t give up you will find it to be the most mind and spirit opening experience that you will have each day. You will look forward to the time you spend with your inner self. You will be more relaxed, and you will be more conscience of your daily thoughts and actions.

Healing-Effects-of-MeditationI have three favorite places to meditate. The first one is in my hot tub. I go out at night before going to bed, and I sit alone in the warmth of the water. It is cold and crisp outside, and the sky is bright with stars. I take cold bottle of water to enjoy as my body warms up. The second place is a special room in my house that I particularly like. It is very comfortable and warm. I light candles or incense for effect only. It is not necessary but makes me feel good. The third place is during a Crystal Toning Bowl session that I attend at The Awakening Heart, a local bookstore located in Salt Lake City, that is offered weekly. Four or five people attend, and you get the benefit of all the energy within the room. I have never experienced negative energy in this situation; although, I know it can and does happen on occasion depending upon the individual energies brought to the group. I will spend more time on this subject at a later date.

I always start with a prayer of thanks for all the wonderful things I have in my life. This helps prepare my spirit and mind for what is to come. I get as relaxed as possible beginning with my toes and working upward throughout my body. Playing soft music in the background can also help with the relaxation. I breathe deeply and with purpose letting the oxygen flow freely through my body releasing all negative energy and tension. This provides cleansing of the soul in itself.

Let all your troubles and concerns flow far away from your heart. I focus inward centering towards the peaceful place in my heart, which is open to the love of the universe. Think of nothing but eternal love.

There are a variety of techniques that you can use, and you can spend as much time as you like. Practice the technique that works best for you. My guarantee to you if that you will be begin to feel better about everything. Seek your center and heart in love, and you will find nothing but love.

In my own personal use of meditation practice I have experienced a tremendous feeling of calm and peace. I started out meditating when my heart and spirit seemed to be broken and in turmoil. Over the period of just of few months, I am enjoying a new sense of peace, calmness, and more importantly, a sense of love for myself.
